Please join us for all or part of our annual Knit-a-Thon to raise funds to support the mission of the Junior League of Rhode Island.

We are calling all knitters, crocheters, and those looking to learn! Join us at any time through this day. A $15 donation is requested for participation in this event. 

If you are *not* a knitter, feel free to join in and bring along a pair of scissors as we will also be making fleece blankets for Foster Forward. If you would like to bring in fleece for the blankets, each blanket uses 1.25 yards of fleece. Coffee, tea, and bagels will be served in the morning, and a light afternoon lunch. Please bring along snacks if you like. Several baskets will be up for a silent auction during this event.

In addition to knitting and crocheting throughout the event, two classes will be held: Learn to Knit with Polly Talbott and Mosaic Knitting with Deb Gerhard. To attend one of these classes, please make an additional donation of $10.

Class Details: 

Learn to Knit with Polly Talbott 10:00AM – 12:00PM 

Supplies will be available for this class for learning, but if you’d like to take home your knitting project, please pick up one skein of worsted weight yarn and a set of size US 8 straight knitting needles to use in the class. 

Mosaic Knitting with Deb Gerhard 12:30PM – 2:30PM 

Please bring two skeins (or about 100 yards of each yarn) of yarn in contrasting colors and the needle size appropriate to the yarn weight. Worsted, dk, sport, and fingering work best for this technique. We will be learning how to read mosaic charts, the various options available for stitch choices in mosaic knitting, and discussing a few tips for working the charts.
