JLRI Announces 2017-2018 Award Recipients

Community Service Award is given to a member or members who have demonstrated effective leadership in the community, a member who is aware of a community need, and who has established programs and/or projects to meet those needs. Erin Herzog has worked tirelessly for many years supporting the youth aging out of the foster system and leading event for the League which include home makeovers, sandwich making, holiday parties, movies nights, etc.  She does all of this with enthusiasm and lots of energy. Erin Herzog has been a Junior League member since 2010 and she currently resides on the East Side of Providence with her spoiled puggle Guinness.
Natalie Henderson Award is given to a member who has understood the need for support of their fellow League members by exhibiting; compassion, hard work and dedication through positive actions and results.  Mallory Kuno took on the role of Membership Director half way through the year filling this position after the previous director moved out of state.  Mallory worked tirelessly to increase membership and she lead the Membership Council to implement membership events which resulted in one of our largest new member class ever.  Mallory has been member of the Junior League of Rhode Island for 3 years and she currently resides in downtown Providence with her husband.  They are expecting their first child this summer.
President’s Award is given to a member who has made significant contributions to the community over the years through the League, whose career shows continued and exemplary demonstration of the Leagues purpose, a member who has demonstrated the effectiveness of the trained volunteer through her continued involvement in the League and community.  Phillippa Rackliffe joined the board this year taking on a brand new positio in the JLRI, serving as Executive Vice President.  This was a new important role which was tasked with changing certain historical and cultural aspects of this League and guiding us into the new norms with the Governing Board and separate Management Team.   Phillippa has been a member of the Junior League of Rhode Island for eight years and she currently resides in Cumberland, RI with her husband, Kevin and their dogs, Kay Kay and Kendall. She enjoys kayaking, hiking with the dogs, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
